TECHNOLOGY AND TRAINING DEPARTMENT (T&TD)

The technology and Training Department's mandate is to promote, support and implement scientific and technological research programs and projects, training and environmental education oriented towards the creation of knowledge and expertise on integrated water management aiming at the promotion of sustainable use of water resources.

The enforcement of the new Brazilian Water Resources Policy poses a new challenge as it requires a comprehensive scientific and technological knowledge on the country's vast water resources, thus requiring institutional building at all levels. Considering the decentralized and participative character of the water management system both formal and non-formal training on sustainable water resources management is required, so as to meet the needs of all stakeholders.
