The South Coastal Hydrographic Region is of great importance to the country due to its high population, the economic development of the region and its status within the tourism industry. The following information aims to present an overview of the region regarding the socio-economic aspects, water usage and availability and basic sanitation indicators, in addition to a synthesis of the current issues regarding the use of water resources and aims for the future.
